Utility Cabinets
City Of Las Vegas

Case Study

The AMP Utility Cabinets program is an ongoing government project that is devoted to beautifying the City of Las Vegas. In 2022, I was selected as one of the artists for the utility cabinets.

My designs hope to inspire unity and diversity.

This series of work incorporated popular patterns from different cultures and illustrations that represented various values. The pattern shapes into different types of windows. Through the lens of different cultures, we discover the same values that are shared among us. Unity in love, peace, freedom, wisdom, justice, and respect for nature.

Mural Process

Light bulb

I began by researching what was relevant to the Las Vegas community and what kinds of public art had been created in the area. I also sketched out some ideas, themes, and elements that I wanted to incorporate into my murals.

Once I had a general idea of what I wanted to create, I sketched out each poster or illustration and designed them accordingly.

Next, I presented my design to the Art Committee of Las Vegas along with the other selected artists

Once my design was approved, I began preparing the necessary supplies for the project, such as paints, primer, brushes, and paint stencils. I also created a timeline to ensure that the project would be completed on time.

With most of the supplies ready, I began painting at each location. Plan my time accordingly to meet the project deadline.

After completing the murals, anti-graffiti coating was applied to each utility cabinet.
